I arrived just before 9am and joined the seven birders already in place and some no doubt since first light. Plenty of commons I was told and indeed they were right. The wind from the NW was creating a bit of a chop especially out in the tide race as the ebb tide picked up. Sea state varied from 3-5 depending where you looked with the tide race being the higher. All through the three hours of my watch there were common dolphin visible somewhere in the field of view but mostly quite distant and feeding well. As the tide picked up several porpoise moved through at speed as they chased their prey. Again mostly distant but one or two ventured a bit closer inside the tide race boundry. A reasonable session really and hopefully better tomorrow.
