It was Fran's turn to lead the Monday Porpoise ID session. A fine warm autumnal morning and a slight NE breeze ruffled the water as the tide race began to ebb. Porpoises were seen but all pretty distant.
As were a nice pod of circa 6 Risso's Dolphins,. which delighted two Cardigan Bay Marine Life volunteers Andy (one of our regulars from Newquay), had brought along in the hope of seeing them.
I was lucky enough to get them in my scope at 30 x so had lovely views as the muddled about seemingly socializing. Some nice behaviour including spy-hopping, head banging small breaches and head standing with the tail visible above the surface.
Sadly no pic's but it was good at last to meet up with Brennig Huws who first got onto them with a positive ID after Andy had spotted them coming in distantly from the north.
Regular Chris also got an older couple from the Nederlands on them which made their day!
