Hope you are keeping OK?
Dropped into Strumble at midday today, (30th Aug) for a couple of hours. Sunny but breezy with a strong tide race meant it was a little difficult to survey but there were numerous singleton porpoise strung out along a very long tide race - maybe 8 in total. When we arrived a guy told us that some Common Dolphin had just passed through quickly. We picked them up way beyond the lighthouse - group of about 15, with at least one half grown calf, feeding for over an hour.
Feeling pleased with ourselves we returned for a pint in sunny Pwllgwaelod, only to spot an adult Bottlenose Dolphin chasing fish, really close in amongst the seaweed on the rocky right hand tip of the bay at low tide. Couldn’t have been more than 10 metres off the beach - to the amazement of swimmers, paddle boarders and kayakers, at least one of whom enjoyed a really close encounter as it surfaced right next to them.
Regards
Andrew

And Today (31st Aug), six Bottlenose Dolphin, including a calf, cruising on the east side of Pen Dinas, seen later by others off the head
