Another dreary start to the day at Strumble this morning. Poor light with occasional drizzle led me to thinking was this trip worth it. But as is usually the case with Strumble "Of course it was". Shortly after setting up I got the first porpoise sighting followed by two others at distance shortly afterward. Next to show up were around sixty or so Commons moving in from the east at speed with a good few of them literally flying along. They turned by the lighthouse and headed out and could be seen feeding about a mile out over the next two hours or so. A final few sightings of porpoise in the tide race as we came close to low tide and that was it for my session and it was home for a welcome bowl of hot soup.
