Strumble Diary 19/02/2023

A promise of good weather got me out early for the dropping tide. As usual though the forecast was a bit out to say the least. Instead of the broken cloud and sunshine promised it was mostly overcast with the odd brief break. Not the best light then but you take what you're given. As I settled in a tug towing a barge was passing by. A quick look through the binos gave me a sight of commons bow riding and having a bit of fun. First shots in the bag and the promise of a reasonable session ahead.

So it was then that as the ebb flow increased the commons moved closer in and by half tide were joined by several porpoise quite happy to feed in the same space. Quite confusing at times as I'd look through the lens see a porpoise, track it, only to see a common pop up where I thought the porpoise would surface. They usually give each other more space but it was nice to see them close feeding in this way. The challenge I set myself to get one of each in the same shot didn't come off sadly. Enjoy!!
