Strumble Diary 21/05/2023

A beautiful morning so I decided to take a break from house renovations and headed to Strumble. As the tide steadily dropped away the porpoise started to show off to the north. Half hour in and I was joined by Cliff and we spent a pleasant two hours or so watching porpoise feeding throughout the tide race.

Now we see all sorts at Strumble as you may have gathered over the years as we post what we see if it's a bit unusual. Today was a first for me. All those years sitting and looking over the sea we quite often don't see what is literally right under our noses, or feet in this case. Casual as you like a beautiful Adder came slitherin by not three feet in front of us. We watched as it turned back into the longer grass in front of the lookout and disapeared into a neat hole that was barely visible unless you looked very closely.

Highlight porpoise wise was one marked and returning animal which I'm sure Holly will be pleased to record in the catalogue.
