Strumble Porp's 20/05/23.

Fran and self arrived at around 11 am about two and a bit hours after high tide. With nothing more than a whisper of a  northerly breeze, the sea was relatively calm.

It was well timed and there was activity from the start, with a pod of four animals heading towards Mackerel Rock. They were a bit splashy and then one of them did a full breach on two or three occasions, a relatively uncommon occurrence with Porpoises. Maybe some mating behaviour going on? A few more breaches were seen over the watch, which was nice to show some lucky visitors who joined us for a while.

As the tide ebbed past us the activity increased with porpoises in small groups or singly spread  out near and far with attendant gulls following them but only a few gannets but sadly no pic's. Not quite porpoise soup but an entertaining couple of hours.
