Strumble Diary 05/07/2023

I arrived at Strumble shortly after 08.30 about an hour before the top of the tide. Big tides so there was still a good flow going NE. I had hoped there may be some porpoise stragglers from earlier in the tide but alas not so. Keen birder Luke Gravett informed me of earlier dolphin sightings so I was hopeful of some sightings myself. To the NE in the remains of the tide race several Commons appeared at what was to be the start of three hours of regular sightings. Mostly distant but a couple of small groups passed a little closer affording me the opportunity of a few decent images. As I had to leave, Holly and the volunteers arrived for their survey so I hope they had good sightings too.
