A calm sunny afternoon and it was off to Strumble for the dropping tide. As I arrived there were still a couple of distant porpoise foraging in what was left of the morning flood tide. A quiet period until the ebb flow got going and then a good number but very distant porpoise. Hopes of them coming closer as the tide dropped ebbed away as a large pod of some forty common dolphin moved in between them and the coast. It did however provide some joyful sightings to the visitors to the lookout both local and tourists. It was actually very nice to see three local couples visiting two of which were encouraged by seeing the bottlenose during the RNLI open day on the breakwater. As the tide eased so the commons moved off west at which time for me it was off home for tea.
