Another delayed posting due to other things getting in the way. The two sessions involved were very slow affairs with only a few animals with a very short window of action in some of the bigger tides. On the 1st I sat for hours before late in the tide a single porpoise moved along the tide race which was the only animal spotted clkose in that day, but I had seen a few other very distant early in the tide.
On the 3rd I was out early and a couple of birders had seen a Rissos just after first light. My session however was very quiet and I was joined later by Cliff and Fran who like me struggled to see anything with a fin. They left after an hour or so and I stayed a while longer. Eventually I found a mother and calf (juvenile) and managed to get bseveral reasonable shots. They moved on and some ten minutes later another animal came up the tide race but it also soon moved on. After four hours and no sign of any turther action I called it a day and made my way home.
