"Agnes" The day after.
Another morning session and with the weather being overcast and still windy it was a case of hope for the best. I arrived two hours in to the dropping tide and joined Luke and Martin (two birders) who had been there since first light. As the tide race formed and moved closer in I spotted a single porpoise in front of the lookout moving up the tide. Some time passed before the next sighting of three porpoise moving against the tide. In photography it's all about timing to catch that split second, that one miniscule moment where everything comes together just as you want it. With wild animals luck as much as anything dictates the outcome especially when your subjects appear out of nowhere and only for a second at most. So I hope you can share my absolute delight in capturing this first image. For me it is the shot of the year so far and I doubt it will be bettered.
This young Shag decided to pay us a visit and landed just below the lookout and rested a while.
