I took a chance on dodging showers today to catch the dropping tide. The light was very poor and the showers did interupt proceedings from time to time. First sighting were twenty or so very distant commons off to the NW and if it were'nt for the gannets above I doubt I would have picked them up. Next came a single porpoise close in going west with the flow but just a brief sighting. Twenty minutes or so passed and the big fins turned up. Several Rissos beyond the tide race moving very slowly and mostly holding in the tide flow. They went out of sight for a while but I got a second sighting of them some thirty minutes later.
A small group of common dolphin close in going west with the tide caught my attention before a couple of porpoise showed up with brief sightings before they pushed west on the tide. Overall a good session only marred by the weather conditions.
