Strumble Diary 12/02/2025

A lighter wind today but still easterly and cold. A dense cloud cover over Strumble made for poor light conditions but the visibility was good. As I arrived I could see Commons breaching a half mile or so to the north. The commons were well spread out over the view in front of me and it was difficult to estimate numbers, however as the morning went on they grouped more closely and I'd say by noon there were between 80-100 in the survey area. We had a new volunteer join us today (Dave) from the Llechryd area so a big welcome to him and a hope to see him many times more in future. Sadly no confirmed porpoise sightings today but what I thought might have been one earlier in the session but could have been a young common.
