Strumble Diary 19/07/2025 (First Rissos since last October).

What a surprise. A message from Carrie who had intermitent signal at Strumble to say she had Rissos there. I couldn't go straight there but a while later when I learned they were still there it was all systems go. Carrie had mentioned three were there but when I got there Dawn Nelms was already there and we noted five in total. I started to record them in the camera but it was difficult in the poor light and the fact they were well separated. Cliff arrived and annoyingly so did a family in an inflatable dinghy who straight away started chasing around after the Rissos. At one point they were no more than 20ft from one of the animals as it passed whereby they turned and chased after it. Total harassment and inapropriate behaviour which is in contravention of the Wildlife & Countryside (Species and Habitats Act) of 1981, regarding protection of cetaceans of which the Rissos along with other cetacean species are listed. The video evidence is too large a file to post here but may be on socials on Monday after consideration.

However, here are the stills of the Rissos I managed to catch in camera.
