A change of Scenery 25/09/2025

Today I had the pleasure of joining the Thursday survey team on a survey at Ramsey Sound. The weather was stunning with light Easterly winds calm seas and blue skys. Fran, Ben, Dawn, Harry, myself and intern Rose soon settled in and put eyes on the water running through the sound. Sightings were slow to start with but picked up about twenty minutes in. Singles, then two's and three's  and before we knew it we were half way through the survey. There was a lull in sightings for twenty minutes or so, a chance for a bite of lunch. We thought they had all gone through but a few more came down from the top end of the sound and gave the best sighting of the session. All too soon the session was over and it was time to head back to the Ocean Lab. I had noticed one marked porpoise and had tried to get a decent side on shot but it wasn't playing ball with me. I did get some shots though and whilst not ideal it is a record of it's presence. Will it be good enough for a catalogue ID?  I'm not sure but I'll submit it anyway.  Image highlighted below.
