A bit late getting this one in but better late than not at all.
What a gorgeous day it was. I was sat below the lookout at the small rock outcrop overlooking the water. A cool breeze to my face and the warming sun on my back. What's not to like. The first action on the dropping tide mid afternoon was a small very distant group of Commons about a mile and a half out to the NE.
About a dozen in all with Gannets diving in amongst them. Soon after Commons were coming in from the North, North West and the West, and all of a sudden it was dolphin central with upwards of a hundred at it's height.
Soon the Porpoise showed up as well which livened things up even more and I was happy to get a Common and Porpoise in the same shot.As the tide race picked up so did the number of porpoise coming in to feed. A steady stream of sightings but mostly further out than I would have liked. All in all a very pleasing session with lots of action on a gloriously sunny afternoon.
