Hi all
Good seeing you earlier in the week in Goodwick.
We have had a few sightings of cetaceans and also heard about a few more this week.
Sunday 1300hrs At least 3 Bottlenose Dolphins including mother and calf at Mwnt
Monday 1200hrs At least 4 Porpoise at St David's Head
Wednesday 1100hrs 2 Porpoise at St David's Head. Also the guys doing the regular survey there reported a Basking Shark off the Bishop and Clerks earlier that morning
and 1400-1700hrs 5 pods of Common Dolphin ( total of 60 animals) and a Mola Mola in the deep water about 5 miles NE of Grassholm. Several groups of Dolphin had young calves. Also, many gannet chicks on the water. Also a report of a pod of 25 Common Dolphin in North Haven Skomer.
I've attached a few pics of the Bottlenose and Common Dolphins as well as the Mola Mola and one of the Gannet chicks.
