Strumble Diary 01/09/2017 AM Session

With the timings of the tides it's possible to get two sessions in today so this is the entry for the mornings ebb tide session. A 7.30 start with a light NW wind again and a slight chop. There was activity way out to the NW with several porps under a dozen ganets. Too far out for any images at that stage although they did come closer later. A small group of Common Dolphin came past at 08.30ish with around eight to ten in all. Two of them breached but I only managed to catch one of them. As the tide race reduced a group of six porps moving together came up the stream and past the lookout. As far as I could tell it was four adults and two calves although I only managed to get five of the group on the surface together, not bad considering you're normally lucky to get two animals in shot at the same time. So much for the expert theory that they are solitary animals eh?

More to come this evening hopefully.
