Strumble Diary 21/09/2017

A quietish session today with the sightings sparse in the choppy NW conditions. At first they were distant with only the briefest of fin sightings despite there being several porps out in the race. A few came closer later in the session before the action dropped away altogether. A major but exciting distraction was the sight of a peregrine falcon taking a sandwich tern and the ensuing struggle with both the tern and a crowd of herring gulls. A truly amazing period of  great bird action a few hundred meters away from us. The full story and images can be seen on the StrumbleHeadSeawatching blog by following this link.
