Strumble Diary 01/10/2018

Another month gone and Autumn at Strumble means Rissos. Sightings have been increasing over the past week or so and it's lovely to see these beauties back on our patch. Three spotted by me today plus many porpoise and with Holly and Cliff sighting Commons there this morning it would seem a good day all around.
My session was slow to start with a sighting straight away of our regular Droopy as I lifted the binoculars but this was the only porpoise sighting until very late in the tide. An hour in and a single Rissos moving east to west with the tide brightned the mood and some thirty minutes later a pair moving west to east into the bay. A long wait then with the tide race well formed before the first really positive porpoise sighting and then it was fourty minutes or so of dash splash and the odd good body/fin sighting. All too soon it was time to call it a day but enough shots in the bag to keep me happy.
