Strumble Diary 15/11/2018

With the tides moving on it was a flood tide session through the morning today. Very quiet at first with just one sighting of a single porpoise. As we went over the top of the tide a group of Rissos made a show off to the NW which perked me up no end. Sophie arrived with the Thursday volunteers so with more eyes on the water we soon spotted more Rissos moving east to west on the now dropping tide. A female Merlin gave us a show as she flashed past and I managed a shot or two with the low sun lighting her plumage showing off the gorgeous feather design on the underside.
I spotted a few more Porpoise way out bringing the total to four for the session. The recording session had ended and we decided to have a further fifteen minutes in the hope some more Rissos might appear and we were delighted when Sophie spotted a slpash from a full breach about half a mile out. We enjoyed a few more minutes of Rissos action before calling it a day and returning to base.
