Strumble Diary 23/04/2019

An early session today with high tide at 10.40am. I arrived just before 9am with the tide race well formed and flowing well. There were a number of porpoise feeding in and near the tide race not too close but showing quite well. Star of the day was Denty, one of our most regularly sighted porpoise and instantly recognisable by her uniquely notched fin.

The Gannets were busy as well and some were coming quite close in which gave an opportunity for an attempt at catching some dive shots. Here's one sequence put together from three images

Lots of action right in front of us as well with this little Rock Pippet in all it's sunny glory and a beetle struggling to move through all the thick grass.

Finally and with a lot of noise and some deft flying some seagulls were mobbing a Buzzard that had strayed too close to the island.

So as you can see an exciting session and a glimpse of all the varied wildlife that Strumble has to offer to those who look.
