Strumble Diary 26/04/2019

We are back on the small tides at present and this means the tide race is later forming in the tidal time line and is not so strong. This obviously has an effect on the porpoise which usually means lower numbers and shorter feeding periods. This was exactly the case today. I arrived well before the tide race formed and had one very brief sighting mid session. The light was poor and it was difficult to get the eyes tuned in. As the race formed I spotted three porpoise moving in and followed them for a while getting what shots I could. A few more individuals moved down from the NE and I would guess around 12 in all for the session which was over in an hour or so as the tide topped and the race died away. No porpoise of note today but a good record session all the same.
