The Sea Trust Monday Photo ID team (Andy Chris Fran and Rob} had a memorable survey today with three species of cetacean!
The weather was a bit murky, overcast, calm but dry. Five distant Risso's were sighted heading east and heading away, but they started the survey off on a high! Interestingly we also had them on the 24th of January 2016! Heres one from then!
Porpoises began to show as the tide began to fall...
...and showed up in all sections of the survey area until...
The Common Dolphins turned up! Which seemed to supress the Porpoises. The commons started arriving in smallish pods of 10-12 but they just kept on coming and coming at least a hundred but impossible to get an accurate number. So not bad for a gloomy day in January !
