Strumble Diary 26/09/2023

I nearly always prefer the dropping tide at Strumble as it brings the porpoise closer to my lens. Today was the first of the dropping tides that occur in the morning light. As the tides move through the month the time difference moves on roughly 40 minutes on each tide so they cycle through the days meaning some times they occur at night. Some days you can be lucky and get two suitable tides in the same day eg, low tide at 11am giving a high tide at 5pm I call them bonus days as I can get two sessions in the one day providing the light and weather come together as well.

The session was slow but steady with several porpoise coming in to feed although most were distant at the start. I had a sighting of two Rissos dolphin's way off to the north heading away from me so no pics this time round.
