Again greeted by a cold easterly wind today (am) so wrapping up warm was the order of the day. I arrived near the top of the tide in the hopes of seeing some Rissos as they have previously been showing up at this time. Sadly not today though. As the tide topped out and the sea calmed somewhat I settled back for the session ahead. Bird activity was almost non existant except for the odd Gannet and a few Gulls. Later in the session I had a surprise though as five velvet Scoter flew through brightening up what was up until then a very sparce session.
Turn of the tide came and a couple of porpoise sighted off in the distance but as the tide sped up so did the frequency of porp sightings leading to a 3/4hr of action in which my eyes hardly left the camera viewfinder. I waited a further hour in hopes of bigger things but none showed so I called it a day and headed home.
