What a beautiful morning at Strumble today. Clear blue sky over a blue sea, birds singing in the gorse bushes and cetaceans all over. I was out very early starting at 8.am an hour after high tide. In what was left of the flood tide race several distant commons were feeding under several Gannets. Various sightings of commons continued over the next hour or so with a few coming closer in whilst the larger pods kept well out. As the tide race for the ebb tide picked up the porpoise moved in giving me many good close sightings keeping my shutter finger busy. One very distinctly marked animal made the day with a curious scar line on it's right flank. See below. The action died away as the tide dropped and I concluded my session shortly after 11.am.
