Hopeful of some images today as yesterday was almost a total blank with only three distant porpoise sighted for the two hours I was there. Today I was joined by Cliff and Fran as we scoured the dropping tide for fins. Nothing for quite a while with the tide race thundering through at pace. As the flow dropped a little we started to see some porpoise slowly moving up through the tide race giving a few decent views. They soon dropped back with the strong flow settling off the lighthouse to feed. A further drop in flow saw a few more move up just NW of the lookout but close enough for some reasonable shots. One marked animal was our bonus catch of the day.
Our friend George Mee, scoping from the car park saw a few small groups of commons well out beyond our binocular or camera range while we were at the lookout.
